Sonnet launches 6TB RAID storage product
New SATA-based RAID storage product aimed at video and film editing applications.
Mac hardware company Sonnet has unveiled its new RAID-based storage products aimed at film and broadcast applications.
Available in configurations of up to 6TB, the new Fusion D800RAID and D400RAID SATA disk array storage products have a PCI Express RAID host adapter which supports RAID 0, 1, 4, 5, 10, 50, and JBOD configurations.
The enclosures contain hot-swappable drive modules equipped with Enterprise/RAID edition SATA drives and locking cables.
It said that an 8-drive Fusion D800RAID system configured as a RAID5 (seven striped drives and one parity drive) could achieve an output of 340MB/sec, which would be fast enough to handle uncompressed 10-bit 1080 4:4:4 HD or multiple streams of DV, HDV, DVCPRO and uncompressed SD video.
The Fusion D800 will retail at £1,045 while the D400 is priced at £329.
